Opportunities for volunteer participation vary greatly. Previous volunteers have assisted this ministry through:
baking and cooking
making kitchen cabinets and screen doors
chopping wood
sewing curtains
painting
putting up the yurt
shingling
caring for equipment
doing computer and office work.
Some volunteers chip in for a week, others for a day, whatever your
time frame and interest, there is a way you can participate in
Wilderness Wind. Though we welcome volunteers throughout the summer,
two set times when additional help is needed are mid to late May and
mid to late August. This is when we set up and pack up camp. During
these times, volunteers are needed to put up or take down tents, assist
with food preparation, get the buildings, equipment and grounds ready
for use (or winter).
We have had groups as large as 20 and as small as one. Whenever you
come, we want to make sure you also have time to relax, canoe, fish,
visit the International Wolf Center or simply enjoy the quiet and
beauty of the Northwoods. We welcome your assistance in strengthening
Wilderness Wind's program and people's experiences with it.
I
believe in the essential unity of humanity and, for that matter, all
that lives. Therefore I believe that if one person gains spirituality,
the whole world gains it, and if one person fails, that whole world
fails to that extent. - Mohandas Gandhi
