How You Can Help

Wilderness Wind is a nonprofit, privately funded organization supported by camper's fees, donations, gifts, voluntary service and grants from foundations.

We need your donations in order to make this unique wilderness experience available to everyone and pursue our mission faithfully. This is why we seek to foster
Since this is a very large mandate, if you wish to direct your contributions to specific camp expenses, they may be earmarked for
  • operations;
  • capital improvements and development;
  • scholarships (for campers and staff); and
  • the Mike Hofkamp memorial fund.

  • A mini-van -needed for long-distance and canoe trip pickup
  • Life-jackets for Lakeside guests
  • Sing the Story and Sing the Journey hymnals
  • Volunteers to assist in kitchen, office and grounds
  • Builders, Builders, and more Builders to assist with several building projects in early May.
  • A driver for any or all of July and August
  • Computer - preference for laptop
  • Monitor - flat screen
  • Projector to show photos after each trip
  • Composting toilet
  • Grant Writer
  • Books for the staff library (we have a list)
  • Rain gear (good quality) for those who forget to bring rain gear
  • Oh yes… funds for a sauna, a long-held dream.
